Fabulous location hidden in the countryside ! With an amazing terrace...
Fabulous location hidden in the countryside ! With an amazing terrace overlooking the gardens. They seemed to be a little short staffed so service was a little slow (and they had a large party to manage as well). But staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. No parking onsite but a free public car park beside the church. This is our first visit. We will go back.

Fabulous location hidden in the countryside ! With an amazing terrace overlooking the gardens. The restaurant, despite the location is unpretentious and welcoming! The staff are always smiling, friendly and attentive (this time it was Laura who looked after us from arrival to departure). The food was beautifully balanced and delicate with no single flavour overpowering another and always letting the main ingredient i.e. the meat or the fish etc take centre stage. My wife's meat and my fish were cooked perfectly. The entree and desserts were all very good. The drinks (again despite the location) were very reasonably priced and were clearly chosen to complement the food. Recommended without hesitation.

The restaurant, despite the location is unpretentious and welcoming! The staff are always smiling, friendly and attentive (this time it was Laura who looked after us from arrival to departure). My wife's meat and my fish were cooked perfectly. The entree and desserts were all very good. The drinks (again despite the location) were very reasonably priced and were clearly chosen to complement the food. Recommended without hesitation.

The quality of the food was good to excellent (although our Bream was slightly too salty from the Soja overpowering the more delicate ginger flavouring and the taste of the excellent fish itself which was cooked to perfection). The Brie with truffles was delicious. However, we do not believe that marshmallows (even home made as these almost certainly were) have any place in a high quality restaurant. Marshmallows are sweet, sticky kids sweets. The ambience / decor was restrained and very pleasant. The staff, whilst young were attentive and friendly. Perhaps because of their youth(?) the chilled Chardonnay we wanted for the main course came too early - before we had finished our aperitifs and before we had finished our entrees. Put this one down to youthful exuberance? The Chef himself welcomed us and checked later to see if we were happy with his food. The kitchen can be seen as you walk into the restaurant - and looked spotless. All of the above comments showed our generally high overall level of satisfaction. HOWEVER(!), the pricing of the drinks was outrageous / exorbitant - even for Luxembourg! One of my friends wanted to get up and walk out before the meal having seen the wine list! We dine out regularly in Luxembourg and abroad, so are no strangers to restaurants making money / marking-up wines and drinks, but this was just too much! As much as we appreciated the food and ambience, the drinks pricing will prevent us returning - sorry!

Having really appreciated Au P'tit Max in Kirchberg, we were really disappointed with their Place D'Armes establishment. The food was uninspiring and lacked flavour. My "rubber" duck was really overcooked and when I complained to a waiter, he simply shrugged (whereas at the end of the meal when it came time to pay the Hostess said we should have refused / returned it to the kitchen - which was , of course too late!). Amusingly (or not!) my main vegetables were perfectly cooked - presumably by a different member of the kitchen staff! Additionally, our cheese plates were simply deposited in front of us with no explanation as to the types of cheeses presented. Clearly staff training requires improvement! Other restaurants - including the Au P'tit Max in Kirchberg offer a superior dining experience.

We dined as part of the Resto days (Oct'18) and were very pleasantly surprised (having viewed the prior contradictory feedback). The atmosphere was very calm and relaxed, the decor was well-thought out and presented & the staff were both welcoming and attentive. The food was excellent - fresh produce, well-prepared & presented with good (non-competitive) flavours. The portions were "on the small side" considering the often mountainous dishes presented in other establishments. A good experience which we may repeat in future - a welcome addition to our local restaurant list which we would not have previously considered (outside of the "Resto Day" opportunity).
